Marinated Flank Steak

Yield: 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs flank steak
- chopped fresh chives, green onion
Marinade
- 3 Medjool dates
- 2 tbsp water
- ⅓ cup coconut aminos or soy sauce
- 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 garlic cloves
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika
- black pepper or crushed red pepper flakes
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- ¼ cup olive oil
Directions:
- Pit dates and soak in hot water to soften.
- Combine all marinade ingredients in blender except olive oil.
- Add olive oil with the blender running on low.
- Score the steak.
- Marinate steak for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Grill steak.
- Let meat rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Marinade Sauce:
- Boil remaining marinade for 5-10 minutes.
- Add coconut aminos and a few drops of hot sauce and serve with steak.
- Serve steak and sauce with vegetables, salad, sweet potato fries.
